Wythe just told me this. He said the guy is having a kangaroo barbecue out in Brooklyn, and did I feel like going?… Um, do you even have to ask?

This is a picture of Barbecue – wearing the same outfit I’ll be wearing that night.

The Well-Enough Folk Band - Bar Matchless

The Well-Enough Folk Band played Bar Matchless in Greenpoint Thursday night. This was the first time I’d seen them live. I’d been listening to a handful of grainy demos since I’d discovered them last fall. I would often have them playing in the background while working on Two Blue Wolves. The mood of those tracks added a final color to the story, and it’s nice to feel their presence whenever I read it.

To hear the music performed live was an incredibly moving experience. The songwriting, the musicianship. Each song as gorgeous and precious as the next.

I managed to snap a few shots while I was there. I think this one gives a sense of how small the stage was, and how intimate the experience had been for those of us in the audience that night.

One of the tracks they performed was “A Rainer,” which is slated to be featured on the Two Blue Wolves soundtrack, and the equally beautiful “Rolling Into Burmingham.”

sunset - taconic state parkway

April was a blur. Two Blue Wolves… lots to look forward to. The teaser site just went into programming. Michael’s design is exquisite. Speaking to Laurie, our PR guru, and had a great brainstorming session with Nina over at Details. I’m going to see a show at Matchless in Williamsburg on Thursday. Checking out The Well-Enough Folk Band who recently signed on to the soundtrack.

I have a working list of bands I still need to contact. If you know of any bands that I should be considering for the soundtrack, please let me know. Send me links to myspaces, or wherever I can download an mp3.

This photo was taken on the Taconic State Parkway in upstate New York on the way to Vermont.
