About Sparrow Hall

Sparrow Hall - Author and leading innovator in transmedia publishing / Advocate for Alzheimer's awareness

“Beyond the beauty of the story, the music, the art—there is a sound that accompanies the arrival of Sparrow Hall’s Two Blue Wolves. It is the bang of innovation, and it is ushering in a vibrant new era of storytelling.” – Linda Kaplan Thaler / Bestselling Author & Media Mogul

Sparrow Hall is an American author, producer and leading innovator in the emerging field of transmedia storytelling. His work allows audiences to immerse themselves in the world of a story by spreading the experience across multiple mediums—including literature, music, video, art, live performance, and the web. His groundbreaking transmedia stories, Nightwork (2010) and Two Blue Wolves (2009) offer readers a rich multi-media experience, and a fascinating look into the future of publishing.

Creative Process & Collaborators
Working with a diverse team of artists, filmmakers, musicians and technologists, Hall relies on collaboration and assembly to create a larger “story world.” He begins by sharing his work with a network of artists who then expand upon the text through their chosen medium. The results have included original songs, visual art, graphic design, music videos, poetry and choreography. Absorbed separately or as a whole, each piece serves as an entry point to Hall’s story world, and encourages the reader to imagine how they might extend the story themselves. Hall’s collaborators have included members of the bands stellastarr*, ArpLine, and Elefant, songwriter/performance artist Ana Lola Roman, painter Jim DeLucia, writer/conceptual artist Wythe Marschall, photographer Giovanni di Mola, and visual artist/choreographer Eva Schmidt.

Alzheimer’s Awareness
A percentage of the proceeds from Hall’s new book, which includes Two Blue Wolves and Nightwork, are benefitting Alzheimer’s Disease research and caregiver support—a cause that holds personal meaning to Hall who was a caregiver himself. The disease shapes the narrative of Two Blue Wolves and the relationship between a young man and his grandmother, offering a profound meditation on love, memory, and human connection.

Maziar, entitled “Winter Bunker,” was included in the 2009 anthology The Good Things About America published by Write Bloody.
