Eva Schmidt

Biography

Eva Schmidt is a visual and movement artist based in New York City.

She is a graduate of Bennington College. Eva choreographed the movement piece “NAVIGATETAGIVAN” in response to Sparrow Hall’s short story Two Blue Wolves. The piece was premiered in October 2007 as part of Bennington College’s 75th Anniversary Celebration.

Eva has shown her work at Movement Research Open Performance, AUNTS, and Dancespace Project's Out Of Space, curated by Ishmael Houston-Jones. Her work is influenced by a curiosity and desire to experience a full range of movement along the dance spectrum, as well as an investigation of improvisational techniques. Eva has worked with choreographers Cori Olinghouse, Paul Matteson and Katie Martin.

Eva currently serves as a studio assistant for artist Jeff Koons.
