Jim DeLucia

Biography

Jim DeLucia is a visual artist based in Rochester, NY.

Jim's painting, entitled “Ferris Wheel,” was created in response to Sparrow Hall’s short story, Two Blue Wolves and is featured with the digital book as a poster and desktop wallpaper. The original work is comprised of oil paint on canvas.

Jim is an abstract expressionist and figurative painter. He utilizes free-form brush strokes and graffiti-based stenciling techniques. Favoring a muted palette, his work tends to explore various forms of organic subject matter juxtaposed within an urban landscape.

Jim’s work has been featured in solo shows at the University of Rochester and Rochester Contemporary's 2008 annual invitational. Jim works from his studio in the Anderson Alley Complex in Rochester’s historic district, and can be reached through his blog, Carving My Initials (http://www.carvingmyinitials.blogspot.com/).

Jim is a BFA graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport.
