Biography
The Hourly Radio is a new wave/progressive rock band formerly based in Dallas, TX.
The Hourly Radio recorded their track, “Sons & Daughters,” in response to Sparrow Hall’s short story, Two Blue Wolves. The song was developed by Grammy Award-winning producer Stuart Sikes (Loretta Lynn, The White Stripes, Cat Power) and is featured on the Two Blue Wolves Soundtrack.
Named in the "Editors Top 5 Picks" in Rolling Stone and as Record of the Year (History Will Never Hold Me) by Billboard writer Jason McNeil, The Hourly Radio has produced one album and two EPs, and have announced that the Two Blue Wolves track “Sons & Daughters,” will mark the end of their short tenure as the beloved band of fans and bloggers alike.
In a recent statement, the band writes: “As some of you may have heard, we have officially decided to stop making music together as The Hourly Radio. We can't express how much the experience has meant to us or how difficult the decision has been to move on, but we want to thank all of you for supporting the band and the music… As a parting gift, we have one last song to offer up. 'Sons and Daughters' is the last song we recorded together and is included in a multimedia release entitled Two Blue Wolves by Sparrow Hall."
Originally discovered by UK booking agent Steve Zapp (Cold War Kids, Editors), The Hourly Radio eventually signed with US booking agent Nikki Wheeler (Placebo, Blur, Lilly Allen), and has performed with Stellastarr*, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Radio 4, IAMX, The Rapture and Shiny Toy Guns.
