Biography
Brian Scibinico is an electronic music producer and recording artist based in New York City.
Scibinico collaborated with the German remixing duo Burnett & Cooper to create a special version of his song “Tonight" for Sparrow Hall's Nightwork transmedia storytelling collection.
Scibinico is originally from Baltimore, MD, a hotspot for the east coast rave scene in the 1990s. He was an avid participant in the culture and has been producing music ever since. Scibinico's style has been likened to Royksopp, Junior Boys, and Booka Shade.
Under the handle "Edit Machine", Scibinico produces minimal and tech house remixes for a variety of dance music imprints (More Music, Mizumo, System Recordings). Since early 2003, he has been actively engaged in sound design and mixing for film, tv, and video game projects. Highlights include: sound design for "Which Way Home" (Oscar 2010 Documentary Nominee), sound editing for "The New Tenants" (Oscar 2010 Short Film Winner), and most recently, supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer for "Gasland" (Sundance 2010 Documentary Special Jury Prize Winner).
